3rd Rate 70-gun 

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Swiftsure was a third rate, 70 gun ship-of-the-line.

Built by Deane of Harwich, launched 08-Apr-1673, 149ft long, 38ft 6in wide and of 978 tons builders measurement (bm).

Rebuilt at Deptford 1696 with an increased tonnage of 987 tons bm.

Renamed HMS Revenge 02-Jan-1716 and also re-rated as a third rate, 64-gun ship of 1,104 tons bm.

Rebuilt at Deptford Dockyard 1742 as 1,258 tons bm.

Sold 24-May-1787.

Won the Battle Honours: Schooneveld 1673, Texel 1673, Barfleur 1692, Vigo 1702, Gibraltar 1704, Velez Malaga 1704, Marbella 1705, Lagos 1759, Quiberon Bay 1759 and Belle Isle 1761.
