This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Defiance was a fourth rate, 69-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by West of Deptford, launched 12-Oct-1744, 147ft 6in long, 42ft 6in wide.

Sold 10-Apr-1766.

Won the Battle Honours: Finisterre 1747, Ushant 1747, Louisburg 1758, Quiberon Bay 1759 and Havana 1762.
