HMS Turbulent (1984) SSN  (5th)

          
The latest HMS Turbulent is another submarine, this time a Trafalgar Class SSN, (nuclear powered, attack fleet submarine.)

She was built by VSEL at Barrow in Furness, laid down on 08-May-1980, launched on 01-Dec-1982, and commissioned 28-Apr-1984.  

Since then she has undertaken patrols from the North Atlantic to the Far East, including the Adriatic during the Balkans conflict.  

Modernisation and 1st refuel 1997.

In keeping with the traditions of the silent service the Royal Navy website provides no operational details.  Information on this awaits further research.
