HMS Turbulent (1805)  (1st)
Gun-brig 12-gun

This the first HMS Turbulent was a Confounder Class gun-brig, built by Tanner at Dartmouth.

Launched on 17-July-1805, with a tonnage of 181 tons builders measurement, 84ft 6in long, 22ft wide, with a crew of 50, and armed with 12 guns.

She had a brief career which ended on 9-July-1808. On convoy escort duty back to Britain she was attacked and captured by the Danes in Malmo Bay. However Turbulent bore the brunt of the attack saving many of the merchant ships in the convoy.
