HMS Turbulent (1916) DD  (2nd)

This the second ship to bear the name HMS Turbulent was a Talisman class destroyer.

Built by Hawthorn Leslie for Turkey and taken over when WW1 began. Launched 05-Jan-1916 and completed May-1916.

Designed to screen the main fleet, from attack by opposing torpedo boats, and also attack the opposing main fleet with her own torpedoes.

As part of the Grand Fleet she engaged the German High Seas Fleet off Jutland in 31-May 1916.

Sunk 01-Jun-1916 at Jutland by a German Battle Cruiser, with the loss of 90 of her ships company.

Won the Battle Honour; Jutland 1916.
