This the first ship to carry the name HMS Porcupine was a 16-gun, sloop..

Built by Taylor of Rotherhithe, bought on the stocks,  launched 19-Jul-1746, 94ft 6in long, 28ft wide and of 314 tons builders measurement.

Sold 31-Mar-1763.

Won the Battle Honours: Quebec 1759 and Havana 1762.
