3rd Rate 64-gun

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Monmouth was a third rate, 64-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Plymouth Dockyard, launched 18-Apr-1772, 160ft long, 45ft wide and of 1,370 tons builders measurement.

Altered to a Prison hulk and renamed HMS Captivity 20-Oct-1796.

Broken up Jan-1818.

Won the Battle Honour: Sadras 1782, Providien 1782, Negapatam 1782 and Trincomalee 1782.
