HMS Monmouth (1903) CC  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Monmouth was the name ship of a class of 10 Armoured Cruisers.

Built by London & Glasgow Co of Govan, laid down 29-Aug-1899, launched 13-Nov-1901 and completed 02-Dec-1903.

On completion joined the 1st Cruiser Squadron in the Channel Fleet 1903-06. Then went to the China Station 1906-13. Returned to the UK and joined the 3rd Fleet 1913-14. 5th Cruiser Squadron Mid-Atlantic Fleet 1914.

Joined the South America Squadron and sunk with all hands 01-Nov-1914 at the 'Battle of Coronel'.
