HMS Captain (1743)  (2nd)
3rd Rate 70-gun

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Captain was a third rate, 70-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 14-Apr-1743, 151ft long, 43ft 6in wide and of 1,041 tons builders measurement.

Reduced to 64-guns 1760.

Renamed HMS Buffalo and used as a storeship 07-Feb-1777

Broken up Oct-1783.

Won the Battle Honours: Louisburg 1758 and Quebec 1759.
