This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Starling was a Dapper Class, 2-gun,  wooden screw gunboat.

Built by Pitcher of Northfleet, laid down 28-Oct-1854, launched 01-Feb-1855 and completed 07-Apr-1855. Engined by Penn & Sons.

Sold 01-Dec-1871 at Hong Kong.

Won the Battle Honours: Baltic 1855 and China 1856-60.
