HMS Prince of Wales (1860)  (6th)

This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Prince of Wales was a first rate, 121-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 25-Jan-1860 after having spent twelve years on the stocks. 252ft long, 60t wide, of 3,994 tons builders measurement, displacing 6,201 tons.

Armed with 1 x 100pdr, 16 x 8in, 6 x 70pdr, 10 x 4-pdr, and 88 x 32pdr guns.

Used as a training ship and renamed HMS Britannia 03-Mar-1869.

Hulked Sep-1909.

Sold 13-Nov-1914, arriving Jul-1916 at Blyth for breaking up.
