HMS Porpoise (1777) (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Porpoise was a
16-gun, sloop. Bought 1777, and of 285 tons builders measurement. Converted to a fireship 23-Jul-1778 and renamed Firebrand. Burned and blew up 11-Oct-1781 off Falmouth.
