HMS Neptune (1797)  (3rd)
2nd Rate 98-gun

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Neptune was a 2nd rate, 98-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 28-Jan-1797, 185ft long, 51ft wide and of 2,111 tons builders measurement.

Fought at the battle of Trafalgar where she sustained light damage, with 10 of her crew killed and 34 wounded. (see: Fleets after the Battle).

Broken up Oct-1818.

Won the Battle Honours: Trafalgar 1805 and Martinique 1809.
