HMS Lancaster (1904) CC  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Lancaster was an Armoured Cruiser.

Built by Armstrong of Elswick, laid down 04-Mar-1901, launched 22-Mar-1902, and completed 05-Apr-1904, 

On completion went to the Mediterranean Apr-1904-12, returned to the UK and joined the 2nd Fleet  1912-1913. To the America and West Indies Station 1913-16.

Was at Bermuda when WW1 was declared and remained there for the rest of the year, escorting troop convoys across the Atlantic.

Following the defeat of Admiral von Spee's Squadron of the Falklands, HMS Lancaster joined the Grand Fleet at Scapa Flow.

Underwent a major refit at Chatham 1917. After this she joined the China Station as Flagship 1917-18. To Vladivostok 1918-19.

Returned to the UK and paid off Jun-1919.

Sold 1920 and broken up at Blyth.
