HMS Centurion (1774)  (4th)
4th Rate 50-gun

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Centurion was a fourth rate, 50-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Barnard of Harwich, launched 22-May-1774, 146ft long, 40ft 6in wide and of 1,044 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from 1809.

Sunk while at her moorings at Halifax, 21-Feb-1824, and later raised.

Broken up 1825.

Won the Battle Honour: St. Lucia 1778.
