This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Caroline was an Albacore Class, wooden screw gunboat.

Built by Green of Blackwall, laid down 01-Dec-1855, launched 09-May-1856 and completed 02-Oct-1856.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1856.

Broken up at Portsmouth 19-Feb-1862.
