HMS Boxer (1942) LST  (7th)

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Boxer was a tank landing ship.

Built by Harland & Wolff and launched 12-Dec-1942.

One of three Mk1 LST's which were the first purpose built ships of the type.

Fitted as a fighter direction ship for the Normandy invasion 1944, then as a radar training vessel 1947.

Appeared at the Coronation Review 1953.

Sold 01-Dec-1958.

Won the Battle Honours: Sicily 1943, Salerno 1943 and Anzio 1944.
