HMS Beagle (1931) DD  (7th)

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Beagle was a B Class, destroyer.

Built by John Brown on the Clyde, laid down 11-Oct-1929, launched 26-Sep-1930, commissioned 09-Apr-1931.

Took part in the King George V Silver Jubilee Fleet Review 16-Jul-1935.

After 1941 she spent most of her time on convoy escort work. But in May 1942 in company with HMS Bulldog formed part of the escort for convoy QP11 which was attacked by German destroyers. These were driven off by the escorting ships.

Decommissioned 24-May-1945.

Sold 15-Jan-1946, and arrived at Rosyth Jun-1946 for breaking up.

Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1940, Atlantic 1940-43/45, North Africa 1942, Arctic 1942-44, English Channel 1943 and Normandy 1944.
