HMS Thunderer (1831)  (4th)

This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Thunderer was a second rate 84-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 1831, after spending eight and a half years on the stocks; 196ft long, 52ft wide and of 2,279 tons builders measurement.

Used as a target ship May-1863.

Renamed HMS Comet 21-Apr-1869.

Renamed HMS Nettle 09-Mar-1870.

Sold 25-Nov-1901.

Won the Battle Honour: Syria 1840.
