This the second ship to carry the name HMS Thruster was a tank
landing ship. Built by Harland & Wolff and launched 24-Sep-1942. One of three Mk1 LST's which were the first purpose built ships of the type. Fitted as a fighter direction ship for the Normandy invasion 1944. Transferred to the Dutch Navy 1945. Won the Battle Honours: Sicily 1943, Salerno 1943, Anzio 1944, South France 1944 and Aegean 1944.
