This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Terrible was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Wells of Rotherhithe, launched 28-Mar-1785, 170ft 6in long, 47ft 6in wide and of 1,666 tons builders measurement.

Used as a receiving ship from May-1823. Then a coal hulk Apr-1829.

Broken up at Deptford Mar-1836.

Won the Battle Honour: Genoa 1795.
