This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Portland was a fourth rate, 52-gun ship, one of a class of seven ships.

Built at Plymouth Dockyard, keel laid Aug-1817, and launched 08-May-1822.

Hulked in 1846, Portland served as a provision depot at Plymouth from 1846 to 1850. After this she was refitted as a frigate.

Sold 19-May-1862.
