This the first ship to carry the name HMS Inconstant was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Originally French, (Pallas) captured 19-Jul-1778 by HMS Victory. 128ft long, 35ft 6in wide and of 705 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Convert 1778.

Broken up 1791.
