HMS Inconstant (1783)  (2nd)

This the second ship to carry the name HMS Inconstant was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Built by Barnard of Deptford, launched 28-Oct-1783, 138ft long, 38ft 6in wide and of 890 tons builders measurement.

Captured the French ship Unite in the Mediterranean, 20-Apr-1796. Which was commissioned into the Royal navy as HMS Surprise.

Broken up Nov-1817.

Won the Battle Honours: Genoa 1795 and Egypt 1801
