HMS Illustrious (1803)  (2nd)

This the second HMS Illustrious was a 3rd Rate 74-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built by Randall of Rotherhithe and launched 03-Sep-1803 she was 175ft long and 48ft 6in wide, of 1,746 tons builders measurement, with an establishment of 74 guns.

She had a long career, winning battle honours at Basque Roads and Java before becoming a gunnery training ship Apr-1854. 

She was broken up at Portsmouth which was completed 04-Dec-1868.

Won the battle Honours: Basque Roads 1809 and Java 1811.
