HMS Glorious (1917) BC

This the only ship to carry the name HMS Glorious was laid down in May-1915 and completed in Jan 1917.

She joined the Grand Fleet in January 1917, and was in action against German cruisers at the Battle of Heligoland Bight, in company with HMS Repulse and HMS Courageous 27-Nov-1917. Became a gunnery training ship then after WW1 spent a period in Reserve.

In February-1924 she was completely cut down and reconstructed as an aircraft carrier. Her time as a battlecruiser ended.

However she continued a new life as an aircraft carrier. See: HMS Glorious (1927) CV .
