HMS Galatea (1914) CC  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Galatea was a Light Cruiser.

Built by Beardmore of Dalmuir, laid down 09-Jan-1913, launched 14-May-1914, and completed Dec-1914.

On completion served as a Leader, 2nd Destroyer Flotilla at Harwich 1914-15, then the same duty based at Rosyth 1915-18.

Together with HMS Phaeton, shot down Zeppelin L7 04-May-1916.

Joined the 1st Light Cruiser Squadron, Grand Fleet sep-1918 to 1919, then the 2nd Light Cruiser Squadron,  Atlantic Fleet 1919-20. Went into reserve 1920.

Sold 25-Oct-1921.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
