HMS Fearless (1965) LPD  (7th)

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Fearless was a landing platform dock (assault ship).

Built by Harland & Wolff, laid down 25-Jul-1962, launched 19-Dec-1963 and commissioned 25-Nov-1965, 520ft long, 80ft wide and displacing 11,060 tons.

Appeared at the Silver Jubilee Review 1977.

Took part in the Falklands War 1982.

The last steam powered surface ships of the Royal Navy.

Paid off 02-Aug-2002 to be replaced by the Albion Class (2003) LPD.

Won the Battle Honour: Falkland Islands 1982.
