This the first ship to carry the name HMS Eastbourne was a Bangor Class, minesweeper.

Built by Lobnitz of Renfrew, laid down 29-Jun-1940, launched 02-Dec-1940 and commissioned 26-May-1941.

Sold 28-Sep-1948 and broken up at Dunston.

Won the Battle Honours: English Channel 1942-43, Dieppe 1942, North Africa 1942 and Normandy 1944.
