3rd Rate 74-gun

    
This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Dragon was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Wells of Rotherhithe, launched 02-Apr-1798, 178ft long, 49ft wide and of 1,815 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from Sep-1824.

Renamed HMS Fame 15-Jul-1842 and hulked.

Broken up Aug-1850.

Won the battle Honour: Egypt 1801.
