This the first ship to carry the name HMS Cormorant was a 16 gun, fireship.

Originally French (Marchault), 101ft long, 31ft wide and of 408 toms builders measurement, captured Apr-1757.

Sold 23-Dec-1762.

Won the Battle Honour: Quebec 1759.
