This the first ship to carry the name HMS Blackpool was a diesel powered, Bangor Class, minesweeper.

Built by Harland & Wolff of Govan, laid down 19-Sep-1939, launched 04-Jul-1940 and commissioned 07-Nov-1940.

Sold 1946.

Won the Battle Honours: Dieppe 1942, English Channel 1942 and Normandy 1944.
