This the second ship to carry the name HMS Bedford was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 27-Oct-1775, 168ft 6in long, 47ft wide and of 1,606 tons builders measurement.

Used as a prison ship from 1801.

Broken up Oct-1817.

Won the Battle Honours: St. Vincent 1780, Chesapeake 1781, St. Kitts 1782, The Saints 1782, Genoa 1795 and Camperdown 1797.
