HMS Zest (1944) DD  (1st)

     
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Zest was a Z Class (1944), destroyer.

Built by Thornycroft, laid down 21-Jul-1942, launched 14-Oct-1943, and commissioned 20-Jul-1944.

On commissioning joined the Home Fleet and served on either Russian convoy duty or Norwegian carrier raids until May-1945.

Then went to Denmark to help in its liberation.

Converted to a Type 15 frigate 1956.

Sold 24-Jul-1970 and broken up at Dalmuir.

Won the Battle Honours: Arctic 1945 and Norway 1945.
