This the first ship to carry the name HMS Zealous, was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Barnard of Deptford, launched 25-Jun-1785, 168ft 6in long, 47ft wide and of 1,607 tons builders measurement.

Broken up Dec-1816.

Won the Battle Honour: Nile 1798.
