HMS Volage (1944) DD  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Volage was a V Class (1943), destroyer.

Built by White, laid down 31-Dec-1942, launched 15-Feb-1943, and commissioned 26-May-1944.

At the end of 1944 went to the East Indies taking part in carrier raids against the Malayan and Burmese coasts, until the end of the war.

Mined in the Corfu Channel 22-Oct-1946.

Went into reserve 1949.

Converted to a Type 15 frigate 1952.

Sold 28-Oct-1972.

Won the Battle Honours: Arctic 1944 and East Indies 1945.
