This the second ship to carry the name HMS Torbay was a second rate, 90-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Originally HMS Neptune (1683).

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 17-Apr-1683, 164ft long and 45ft wide. and of 1,377 tons builders measurement. With an establishment of 90-guns during war in home waters or 82-guns in peace or war overseas. 

Rebuilt at Blackwall in 1710, when she was increased to 1,577 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Torbay 23-Aug-1750.

Sold 17-Aug-1784.

Won the Battle Honours: Quiberon Bay 1759, Belle Isle 1761, St. Kitts 1782 and The Saints 1782.
