This the first ship to carry the name HMS Sylph was a 14-gun, sloop.

Bought 1776, originally Lovely Lass and renamed, 85ft long, 27ft 6in wide and of 274 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Lightning, 25-Aug-1779 and converted to a fireship.

Sold 01-May-1783.
