HMS Sparrow (1946) SL  (7th)

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Sparrow was a Modified Black Swan (1942), escort vessel (sloop).

Built by Denny, laid down 30-Nov-1944, launched 18-Feb-1946 and completed 16-Dec-1946.

HMS Sparrow was the last sloop to be completed.

On completion went to the America and West Indies Station and remained there until 1952. Then it was to the Far East Fleet until 1954 when she continued to the South Atlantic Station 

Returned to the UK mid-1956 and went into reserve.

Disposed of 26-May-1958.

Won the Battle Honour: Korea 1953.
