This the second ship to carry the name HMS Somerset was a third rate, 80-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 21-Oct-1731, 158ft long, 44ft 6in wide and of 1,354 tons builders measurement.

Broken up Oct-1746 at Chatham.
