This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Scout was a 14-gun, brig-sloop.

Built by Smith of Folkestone, bought on the stocks, launched 30-Jun-1780 82ft long, 29ft wide and of 276 tons builders measurement. Armed with 14 x 4pdr guns.

Captured by the French ship Celeste 24-Aug-1794, off Cape Bon.
