This the first ship to carry the name HMS Panther was a fourth rate, 54-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Popely of Deptford, launched Mar-1703, 131ft 6in long, 34ft 6in wide and of 683 tons builders measurement.

Rebuilt at Woolwich 1716, and increased to 716 tons builders measurement.

Hulked Jan-1743.

Sold 26-Apr-1768.

Won the Battle Honour: Velez Malaga 1704 and Marbella 1705.
