HMS Naiad (1892) CC  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Naiad was a 2nd class protected cruiser.

Built by Vickers of Barrow, laid down 1889, launched 29-Nov-1890, completed 1892.

On completion went into reserve at Portsmouth 1892-1901. Then went to the Mediterranean and Red Sea 1901-04 with a detachment to the Cape Station 1901-02.

Laid up at Chatham 1905-07 and converted to a minelayer 1907-10. Into reserve 1911, then joined the 2nd Fleet minelaying Squadron 1912-14, and Dover Squadron 1914-15.

Served as a depot ship at the Tyne 1917.

Sold 09-Jun-1922.
