HMS Intrepid (1892) CC  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Intrepid was a 2nd Class, protected cruiser.

Built by London & Glasgow Co, of Govan, laid down 1890, launched 20-Jun-1891, and completed 1892.

On completion went into reserve at Portsmouth 1892-96, then to the America & West Indies Station 1896-99. Returned to Portsmouth 1899-190, then to the Mediterranean 1902-04.

Returned to the UK and used for harbour service at Portsmouth 1904-09.

Converted to a minelayer at Chatham 1909-10. Into reserve 1911, then joined the 2nd Fleet Minelaying Squadron 1912-14, then the Dover Minelaying Squadron 1914-15.

Served at North Russia 1915-16 and the White Sea 1917.

Prepared as a blockship 1918 and expended at Zeebrugge 23-Apr-1918.

Won the Battle Honour: Zeebrugge 1918.
