This the second ship to carry the name HMS Imperieuse was a fifth rate, 40-gun ship.

Originally Dutch, captured off Texel 30-Aug-1799, and named HMS Amphitrite, 151ft long, 41ft 6in wide, and of 1,183 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Imperieuse 1801.

Broken up Apr-1805 at Devonport.
