This the second ship to carry the name HMS Hampshire was a fourth rate, 48-gun, ship.

Built by Taylor of Cuckold's Point, launched 03-Mar-1698, 132ft long, 34ft 6in wide and of 690 tons builders measurement.

Broken up at Portsmouth 1739.
