HMS Gladiator (1899) CC  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Gladiator was a 2nd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down Jan-1896, launched 18-Dec-1896 and completed Apr-1899.

On completion went into reserve 1899-1900. The went to the Mediterranean 1901-03. Refitted at Portsmouth 1903-08.

Sank 25-Apr-1908 in collision with American liner St Paul in the Solent with the loss of 27 of her crew.

Raised Oct-1908 but beyond economic repair.

Sold 1909.
