This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Fame was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Bird of Deptford, launched 01-Jan-1759, 166ft long, 47ft wide and of 1,565 tons builders measurement.

Renamed Guildford 1799 and used as a prison ship.

Sold 30-Sep-1814.

Won the Battle Honour: The Saints 1782.
