HMS Donegal (1903) CC  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Donegal was an Armoured Cruiser.

Built by Fairfield of Govan, laid down 14-Feb-1901, launched 04-Sep1902 and completed 05-Nov-1903.

On completion served with the Channel Fleet 1903-05. Set out for the China Station but ran aground 1906 and was repaired at Chatham/ Went into reserve 1907-09. To the America & West Indies Station 1909-12. Returned to the UK and joined the Training Squadron 1912, then the 3rd Fleet 1913-14.

Refitted 1914 after which joined the Mid-Atlantic Fleet based at Sierra Leone. Joined the Grand fleet 1915-1916. Back to the Mid-Atlantic 1916-17, America & West Indies Station 1917-18.

Paid off May-1918 and went into reserve 1918-19.

Sold 1920.
