HMS Cornwallis (1813)  (4th)
3rd Rate 74-gun

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Cornwallis was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Bombay Dockyard, launched 12-May-1813, 177ft long, 48ft wide and of 1,809 tons builders measurement.

Conversion to a screw ship of 60-guns, completed 08-Feb-1855.

Converted to a jetty at Sheerness 1865.

Renamed HMS Wildfire 1916 and used as a base ship.

Broken up at Sheerness 1957.

Won the Battle Honours: China 1842 and Baltic 1855.
